My Intro To SkaI had never heard of Ska, or LTG, until I heard the song "All My Best Friends Are Metalheads". It still remains my favorite LTG song ever...but that's not the point. The point here is that I only have one song rated 3 stars on iTunes from HR. This is easily one of the best albums I've ever purchased; it's inspired me to want to start my own Ska group. But, anyway, onto the ratings. 1. Last One Out Of Liberty City: **** 2. Help Save The Youth Of America From Exploding: **** 3. All My Best Friends Are Metalheads: ****** - That's right, six stars! Out of every song I've ever listened to, this is in my top 5 songs (#4, actually), trailing behind American Idiot, Stay Together For The Kids, and St. Jimmy. 4. Five State Drive: **** 5. Nervous In The Alley: ***** 6. Motto: *** 7. History Of A Boring Town: **** 8. Great American Sharpshooter: ***** - It has a beat that really gets me flowing with the music, kind of like St. Jimmy. 9. Danny Says: ***** 10. Big Crash: ***** 11. Theme Song For H Street: ***1/2 - Meh, not the best song I've heard. 12. Richard Allen George...No, It's Just Cheese: **** - REALLY weird song... 13. Scott Farcas Takes It On The Chin: ***** 14. Al's War: ****The Punkiest most ska album ever!Hello Rockview is definetly the best LTj and ska CD you can ever find! If you like LTj by it immediately. Here are summaries of the songs: Last one out of Liberty City:10/10 This song is so awesome and has a great ska beat to it. The horn section is pretty amazing too. Help save the youth of America from exploding:5/10 The worst song on the Cd. No horns, and not punk at all. All my best friends are metalheads:10/10 The best song on the CD! It has awesome horns and cool guitar parts! it rocks! Five state Drive:9/10 This song is pretty awesome and very catchy. You can hear some good hoprns here and there. Nervous in the alley:9/10 This song is very good. It has a great opening horn section and is incredibly fast. Motto:10/10 This song is so awesome!! It has cool lyrics and it is amazingly fast! History of a boring town:6/10 This song is SO boring! I don't like it at all! Great American sharpshooter:10/10 This song is very fast and always gets its very ska choruses stuck in my head. Awesome song! Danny says:8/10 This song is okay but LTJ could have done a much better job. Big crash:10/10 Oh my God! I love this song! It rules and has a great message for punks everywhere! Theme song for H street:10/10 This song is really good! It is so catchy! Rich Al George,no it's just cheez:10/10 This is the weirdest most bizzare song I've ever heard but it is very fun to listen to. Scott Farcas takes it in the chin:10/10 WOW! What an awesome song! I absolutely love the horn section and slower tempo of this song! Al's war:9/10 This is a catchy little tune but it isn't great. The Best Ska Album Ever? No just overated Ska!When I heard people raving about how this album was so good I had to buy it. After hearing Losers, Kings, and Things my expectations were quite high. When I heard how good History of a Boring Town and Scott Farcas were and when I heard them for the first time I was upset. The real problem with this cd is that all of the songs sound the same. The ska feel is still there but the vocals and the horns sound exactly the same. Yes the songs are good and some are awesome but this cd runs together so badly. Every songs sounds the same, yes every song! This cd bores me everytime I listen to it because this album was supposed to be good, this was a major upsetment. When I read these reviews it makes me sick, it's like the only good ska bands out there are LTJ and Reel Big Fish. If you listen to more than five bands then you would find ska way better than this. However this album isn't a complete bust. There are two stand out tracks. #1, and #6. I have to listen to this cd about once a month or else I get tired of it way to fast. If you want better ska get a Mustard Plug or a Hepcat cd. Basically this album is like watching Pimp My Ride, it's ok once in a while, but that's it. |
