too repetitive!I was in the market for another straight ahead rock record when I came across "chevelle's wonder what's next". I had to choose between that and the new Alter Bridge. I decided to go with the chevelle. I gotta admit, these guys can make some pretty good INSTRUMENTAL music, but the lyrics and hooks suck a**. They repeat the same lines over and over again, and the chorus' just aren't catchy at all. An evening with El Diablo is almost too painful to sit through. Out of the 11 songs, I like The RED and Send The Pain Below, thats it. Not bad, just too bland and repetitve. thats it. thats all. too repetitive. later.Incredible cdThis album totally leaves you wanting more from these guys. The heavy riffs and deep base combined with aggressive lyrics make this album one of my faves. All 11 tracks are simply amazing, standouts are The Red, Send The Pain Below, Closure, and Comfortable Liar. Chevelle is definitely gonna have a hard time topping this, Wonder Whats Next is defintely what i am thinking.Fred Durst's Numba One Fann Is A Moron!"Yo my street peeps, how are ya?? Usually I hate evil black and death metal bands, but this Chevelle band pulls off the stylr rather well, with low end, heavy riffs, growled vocals, rumbling bass and fractic drumbing!! The lead guitarist is a madman and a half!! You have to be a it mentally disturbed to write riffs as savage as he does, but his mental instability is our gain!! Another noticable thing is their love for all things dark and satanic. One of the more obvious moments is in "Comfortable Liar" which shows how comfortable they are with telling lies and bearing false witness against their fellow neighbors!! This bltantly defies the 8th commandment of course, but this don't effect them one bit since their veterans of the left hand path. "The Red" is another evil moment, taling of their love for the color red which represents blood and sacrifice. "Send The Pain Below" talks of all things painful and deviant in the underworld. I would have given this more starz but the lyrics and music is scary and overwhelming so 2 is good for now. This album goes well with anything by The Bee Gee's, Vital Remains, Three Dog Night, Black Eyed Peas, Christina Augulera, Weezer, Nelly, Exhumed, Aerosmith, Alan Jackson and Puff Daddy. Peace out peeps!!" Some idiot reviewer by the name of "Fred Durst's Numba One Fann" decided to hark on this a year ago. Well, I'd like to tell him that CHEVELLE IS NOT SATANIC METAL! They're actually a Christian band, as a matter of fact. The problem with this disc is that it is overrated, and it is nothing compared to "Point #1". "The Red" is not my favorite song, but it is acceptable. "Send The Pain Below" is a better track, but it is very overplayed. "Closure" is possibly the best track on this CD. It sounds a lot like Tool at times, and I love Tool. "Comfortable Liar" would be my pick for an underrated track. However, if you want this CD, buy it used. It's not worth your fifteen dollars. I suggest "This Type Of Thinking (Can Do Us In)" instead. It is not as overhyped as "Wonder What's Next", which isn't terrible. |
