The best contemporary Christian band since CreedI didn't know what to think or expect of this band having on a hunch purchased this CD from a third party seller on Amazon.com. I normally don't listen to rock/pop Christian bands except for Creed (who were great in they heyday), and I thought I was in for much of the same here with Switchfoot. Let me say this, I was pleasantly and awesomely suprised and flaberghasted at the beauty that each song on this album portrayed. This is Switchfoot's first CD and their debut in the soft rock arena was explosive not only for their awesome sound but also for their though provoking lyrics, and messages in their songs. This album is a gem and Switchfoot are better than Creed in delivery and mood setters.
The best songs are at the beginning of the CD. It is rare for a band to release a 3 or 4 hits on one album and well this band did here. 'Meant To Live' and 'This Is your Life' are thought provoking asking the listener to take stock of their life, enjoy the good times and Live your life to the best of your ability. Well said in a world that has gone sour. My favourite song (and rightly so others) is 'Dare You To Move' about love and belonging within relationships with other people as well as our individual relationship with our Gods.
I love this CD and this has become my 10th most listened CD. I can simply not get enough of Switchfoot.Best CD you'll ownThis CD is great. I first borrowed it from a friend, and loved it. I think I stayed up till midnight listening to it. Soon I went out and bought it myself, and listened to it all the time. Like all CD's, you get tired of them, but about once a week or so, I'll feel like listening to it, and it'll be just like the first time I heard it. Really really good. You definitly have to get this CD, it's a must-have, and you won't regret getting it. It's also a great gift. One of the best cds everI love this cd! after hearing meant to live I bought the cd and Im so happy with it!
