absolutely a must this cd is definitely a cd any fan of fear factory needs to buy. the drums on this album are insane. when i first listened at my friends house, i thought, that has to be a machine, it is incredible. Burton's clean vocals sound awesome and melodic. Christian does an awesome job filling in for Dino i have to agree. this album has a sound to it like none other (in my opinion) and i'll never get tired of listening to it. its not Cradle of Filth, which is by far my favorite band, but it is definitly one to listen to. stay sic never gets old. This is simply one of thee best albums I own. I hath a collection of many cds, this one hath been in my collection for a year...and it has not yet become boring. FF hath improved yet again and become a much stronger force than they ever were. Raymond is the fastest drummer I hath ever heard,he is the king ov double bass kicker pedals, his drumming is mind blowing. As for thee album: it remains strong throughout thee cd. Songs and ratings: 1.Slave labor:it is fast throughout the song.you can feel the anger in Burton's voice inside your veins as you become one with the same anger,a perfect intro. 5/5 2.Cyberwaste: Much faster than Slave labor. The song is immensely catchy and the words are easy to pick up on,flows real well. 5/5 3.Act of god: good song, not the best.It is still worth listening to. 4/5 4.Drones: I was never a fan ov this song,I usualy skip it. 3/5 5.Archetype: simply the turning point. They're second single, one ov the best songs on here.I wilt let thou decide and concide ov the song's treasures, discover it yourself. 5/5 6.Corporate cloning: My favourite song on thee album. The guitaring is very agravating as the growling suits it well. The chorus is unforgettable, and the song is played out very well. 6/5 7.Bite the hand that bleeds: I like the song a lot,but I don't usualy listen to it.The verse is too quiet. 4 and a half/5 8.Undercurrent: another great song, reminds me ov corporate cloning. 5/5 9.Default judgement: I wilt say nothing but an underground classic. 5 and a half/5 10. Bonescraper: to be honest,I cannot really remember this song,I wilt let you decide. 11.Human shields: this is a very meaningfull song,it is emotional and can make someone who is pissed off sad.Good song. 4/5 12. Ascension: Boring. 1/5 13.School: a cover ov a classic Nurvana song, pulled off real well. They made it flawless. 5/5 Perhaps a few songs are not thee best, but the ones that are worth listening to earn this album 5 stars.Give it a listen, and but it.oh yes come on!im brand new to fear factory (with the exception of the utterly crap 'cars' song) and i have to say that this is one of the best albums i have ever heard. the music is intense, fast paced, but no less melodic. the lead singer has that amazingly raw talent of being able to scream and growl but then (as seen particularly on the title track) reaches soaring peaks within his vocals. the guitarist (which im lead to believe was once the bassist) is also very talented and his riffs rival those of mick thompson (slipknot) and james root (slipknot, stone sour)who are both guitarists of the highest calibur in the death metal/heavy rock world. if you are new to fear factory as i am i think that this is probably the best album to introduce yourselves to, or obsolete because of its constant radio play. im in awe! wow! im not wasting anymore time with this review, im now gonna download this onto my ipod and go into my own little world with achetype! Best Songs: Archetype 10/10 Slave Labor 9/10 |
