One of THE best CD's i've heard in a While.............I didn't know anything about this guy at all until a few days ago. I was on iTunes and promo for his album showed up and i clicked on it, and Was BLOWN away by his voice, It's so raw and soulful i decided to buy it. I like all the songs on this album, but my favorites are "Home", "Come around", "Where you are", and "Rock steady". This guy is so talented i don't know what else to say, i'm in awe when i hear his songs. I heard he's even better live, maybe one day i'll get to see him perform. He's a blend of Soul/Pop rock and i can't wait till his next album comes out!.....I highly recommend this CD.Serendipitous....Just happened into a store when this CD was playing. Folks are right when they say this music is too gritty for the radio, but it's just right for me. How do you describe Marc Broussard? Too bad "Swamp Fox" was already taken.... Reviewers gave that one to Tony Joe White, and it's well-deserved. The man's bass voice reeks of the Louisiana swamps and all their mysteries. So, what do we call Marc Broussard's variable stylings? He can be tough as a gravel road and smooth as moonshine with that tell-tale kicked up the side of the head feeling you get after you've inbibed in something that's stronger than you think. It's blues, it's old-school funk....CARENCRO is Southern folk at it's best. "RockSteady" should have been the single from this album, but there are so many songs that are worthy of more than just a casual listen. "Home's" amazing. "Saturday Night" is vintage 70s. At least, give this CD a listen. I think you will be quite impressed. Just Not Worth Buying The Whole ThingThis CD contained a few good songs, but for the most part was a collection of second rate pop ballads with lyrics that would make any objective listener cringe. |
