First Exposure to Kutless - awesomeIf a fan is going to judge this ban's heart and accuse them of allegedly making a worship album to make money, this excellent band can do without them. I can't believe I'm hearing a Christian band being condemned for worshipping God through music. Unoriginal? I've never heard these great songs like this before. Most of them are the best versions I have heard while others are just different. I never heard of Kutless before hearing Draw Me Close on the radio. I thought "wow, I know that song. This is a phenomenal remake". After hearing a few samples of other songs, I immediately bought the whole album. Par for the course, Christianity Today gave it a bad review. I have loved every single album that CT has given a bad review. And it is definitely a rock worship album. What were these petty fans expecting, a death metal worship album?Probably one of the best praise cds. I've been reading some of the bad reviews on this cd, and I "horrfyingy" disagree with them. Ok, for one thing, this is a praise and worship cd, so you can't expect them to totally rock out in it. But I must say, for what they do, the make the songs pretty rocking. I didn't expect this cd to be totally hard rock like their first 2 cd's, but i was really surprised at how awesome this cd really was. And one other thing, how can you say they weren't creative in this cd? I actually think they were more creative on this cd more than their first 2. I think the guitar work on this cd is really well done...it's not the best, but it's alot better than the guitar on their first 2 cds. The song Take Me In is amazing! The soloing on that song it so stinking cool, I think I wanna pee my pants. So overall, this cd is really really good. But if you're looking for really hardcore music, that isn't exactly on this cd....but then again, it's a praise and worship cd. Great bandI didn't really love Kutless until hearing them live in concert at the festival here 2 days ago, so then I bought Sea of Faces and this new one too. This is an awesome worship album! I haven't owned any Christian cds except one since I wasn't sure what to start buying. A few of the previous reviews were disturbing to me...not a lot, but though it seems Kutless is known for their rock sound and all, for a worship album, the sound is appropriately worshipful and moving (at least I thought so). Besides this collection of songs are meant to glorify God and it definitely put me in a spiritual and reflective mood. Like someone said earlier, it's all for Him, to please Him. After a while, even if we love the music a lot, we also tend to judge and criticize a bit much. As long as they praise God, I'm ok with them. Of my favorite worship songs were the "Better Is One Day" and "We Fall Down." |
