MSI just keeps getting betterMSI, while not for everyone, has been getting progressively better at their unique craft. The first album (self titled) is really a rather traditional industrial album. They moved on to their second offering (Tight) which is pretty much like nothing anyone has heard. Think Rap, Industrial, Punk, and a bit of Metal combined with a splash of pop all thrown in a blender and left on "liquefy". They took one more step forward with Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy a really excellent album with some killer hooks that are more than capable of getting stuck in your head. Alienating our Audience showed us what the band can do live and threw us a few new songs with some twists on the old. This album follows the trend and is one more step in the right direction. The songs are catchy, the lyrics are still obscure and offensive, and the band proves that they can write music when they really want to. Listen to the sound bytes first, if you haven't heard of this band there is a pretty good chance you will hate it. If you are a returning MSI fan, This album kicks ass.I love this CD This cd is a really good cd.. if you liked any of their other stuff then you will love this CD.. its just awsome!Nobody Superstars?Whiny vocals that sound like The Darkness, but oh so clever little Pop hooks, and a cover of Rush's "Tom Sawyer" do not make this punk! This is lame retrograde, and somehow sad. That something so trivial (oh a cross on the cover, how rad!) can become a major selling force is a serious tragedy. Especially when there's hardly any music on the disc. Gotta give anyone credit for pulling off that stunt. Whatever the rave reviewers here find so appealing is beyond my ears. Sometimes I think such listeners could tap their feet to the wind, or likely buy a CD recording of their blender if it was packaged properly. Minus 5 stars if at all possible. Besides why would anyone want to hear someone else's mindless self indulgence? I guess certain people need help to jerk off. |
